What if there were two Lynda Barrys in the world? There aren't, but Vanessa Davis' new and amazing book Make Me a Woman lets you pretend. It's a jam-packed smorgasbord of her work from 2004-2010 and it really shines with an exceptional breadth, humor, depth and charm that I didn't quite pick up on in her debut book, Spaniel Rage. I love her jaunty pencil linework and amorphous page layout, too. Yeah, this one is gold glitter and lots of it. -EF
