I was about to judge this book by it's understated cover then I opened straight to a review of the latin mass at St. John Cantius my parents dragged me to for a good part of my childhood (featured review word: "lachrymose"). Wow. Kelly's church reviews are insightful, poised and irreverent only to the point of being accurate. Sort of like Roctober Reviews but for places of worship, Hilaretic speaks in part to the infinite styles of the high holies but also, and perhaps moreso, to what a mega-weirdo the reviewer is.
