Reincarnated to complete a quest for her allmother, Navi finds herself in the caves outside of the city Hardai, where she meets slave children whose skins have grown as hard as stone.  There, they care for a tree that grows upside down, and harvest the black blobs that fall from its leaves.  Then she meets their dog-like masters, and things become complicated...
