Powdered Milk, Roberts' parenting autobio comics, are told through vignettes, yet have the feeling of capturing a whole. "Unglamorous" is maybe a great word for unlocking the magic of the storytelling here...kids and dogs and family and spouses are all quoted verbatim and the little moments lined up for an overall clarity, journaling of life that's brutally honest but not unkind. -EF
