CNTRMTR relieves some digital ennui by putting its dust-n-scratches splendor into a moody paper journal. Bookended by excellent painting and illustration portfolios from Chris Ross, Matija Drozdek, Jennie Strolpe and Manuel Lozano, the meat of this issue is an amazing international selection of featured photographers: L.C., Jesús Caba, Charlie Able, Agnes Thor, Diego Berruecos, Herve Thomas, Greg Byers, Erich Kronsteiner, Rigoberto de la Rocha, Will Slegg and Oscar Ascencio, all presenting powerhouse work. There's incredibly a cohesive feeling to all these photos as well, looking through the journal as a whole one gets the feeling of a lost day with the sun diffused through clouds, spent walking somewhere that was closed when you arrived. -EF
