How to Fake a Moon Landing Exposing the Myths of Science Denial
Published by Abrams ComicArts
176p, color, hardcover, 6"x8.5"
Cunningham's new book is a didactic trip through debunking territory. How to Fake a Moon Landing takes on conspiracy and misinformation about fracking, climate change, evolution, homeopathy, astronauts and chiropractic care among other topics. The style veers away from the simple, personal linework of Psychiatric Tales and slips into sloppy Photoshop filter-reliant techniques of edu/tainment territory. The tone often gets tricky with all this- I enjoyed Cunningham's takedown of Moon Landing conspiracy but often the righteousness that comes with his dismantlings seems unwarranted - there's very little empathy towards the beliefs he's trying to refute. If you're in the choir and you want some preaching though..... -EF
