LB is a gender-questioning punk rocker in a band in the summer, and a  dedicated, grant-winning high school teacher with their tattoos covered up during the school year. They suffer from all of the trials of working in the Chicago Public School district, and those trials are summed up by the words of a doctor that told LB, "It would be difficult to find a CPS employee that's not on antidepressants."
