This zine is worth it for the delightful design and illustrations alone, even if you don't care about the range of hardiness of Staedter Mars Lumograph pencils that Zoe does. But if you do care about the writing utensils in Zoe's toolbox (and erasers and other helpful items in the life of a hardcore illustrator), then this is the most helpful zine ever. Now if like me, you are more an appreciator of the visual arts than a creator of them, you will find this hand-lettered zine charming. Like, that drawing of a fixative -- these are the types of drawings and hand lettering headings I would want to be able to do if everything I hand letter or drew didn't look like a little kid did it. That's why other people in the store make the signs. If I wanted to up my art game, with this zine I'd at least have the right tools to start! -LM
