Notes From Boying: a pressing concern book mark is a mother’s rumination on structures of gender as they confront and conform her child. Writing from a place of witness, empathy, and shared affliction, her observations are colored by the uneasy awareness that she also actively restricts and forms possibilities, her position oscillating between enforcer and enforced.
Lu Heintz is an artist, educator and feminist collaborator based in Providence, RI. Her multidisciplinary practice converges at interests in language, enclosure, embodiment and agency.
