Marc Fischer perused file cabinets from the Chicago Artist Files on the 8th floor of the  Chicago Public Library's Harold Washington Library Center. The collection spans 70 feet of material Chicago artists, art movements, and arts organization spanning from 1890 to the present of approximately 11,500 artists, and included news clippings, letters, photos, books, original artwork and more. With some help from the Sixty Inches from Center and CPL librarian Bob Sloane, he perused the files. Reproduced here are selected interesting ephemera: invites, postcards, and on amore meta-level, selected views of the files themselves. A peek into Chicago's rich art legacy. -LM
